When's The Last Time You Took Your Vehicle in for Maintenance?

When's The Last Time You Took Your Vehicle in for Maintenance?

There's no debate that routine maintenance is practical, but there are motorists who skip out on automotive maintenance services that can save them time, frustration, and money later. You may have a friend or family member who falls into this category of drivers, or you might be one yourself. If most people recognize the benefits of car maintenance, why would anyone ignore the manufacturer's recommended maintenance guidelines? There are a few factors that come to mind, but we believe the benefits of keeping up on car upkeep outweigh the cons (and we can help with those, too).

Common constraints include time and money. Unless you're covered under a maintenance program, you need to pay something to have your vehicle looked at by a technician. While most drivers understand maintenance is important, not everyone preps for the eventual cost. In addition, motorists may underestimate the number of miles they drive in a year, meeting their mileage maintenance intervals sooner than they expect. At Drake Tire & Auto Service, LLC, we offer financing to assist with automotive repair and maintenance costs. A dedicated credit card for car care can help make maintenance, and any unexpected repairs or tire purchases, more manageable.

Other motorists opt out of routine maintenance at an automotive service shop for DIY jobs. For those who know what to look at and how to change parts and replace fluids, it's a way to save money. However, not everyone has the knowledge, fluids, auto parts, and equipment for every maintenance job. At Drake Tire & Auto Service, LLC, we encourage our customers to learn more about their vehicles and are always on hand to answer questions you may have about routine maintenance and car care. If you don't have the time to perform routine maintenance or learn more about your vehicle, we encourage you to head to our automotive service center. We're happy to assist.

Last, there are motorists who plan to take their vehicles in for maintenance but forget or have "other things to do." We recommend making maintenance one of those "things to do," because we find it to be worth the time. As for forgetting, if you're reading this article, ask yourself: when was the last time I took my vehicle in for maintenance? Now might be a good time to check your mileage and owner's manual.

At Drake Tire & Auto Service, LLC, we're ready to assist with your car care and routine maintenance needs. Whether it's an oil change or preventive maintenance milestone, we'll help you keep everything running smoothly. We serve Alton, IL, Godfrey, IL, Wood River, IL, and surrounding areas,
